Poster Session
Poster sessions are presentations by an individual or small group. Content relates to the theme of the event and often develops from research or case studies that have been performed in a course, practicum, or independent study. Poster sessions are an effective forum for the exchange of information and a means to communicate ideas and research.
Companies and/or organizations wishing to exhibit their information may click here for more information.
Guidelines for Presenting a Poster
-Posters may be no larger than 30"H x 40"W (76 cm x 101 cm).
-An easel with foam board measuring 30" x 40" will be provided to attach/support posters.
-Adhesives such as double-sided tape and clips will be provided.
-Posters should include the title of the presentation and the list of authors.
-DO NOT mount the text of a paper as the poster. Instead, consider having copies of the paper available for viewers to take.
-Keep in mind that most viewers will be approximately 3-5 feet away from posters. Therefore, it is suggested that a font no smaller than 16 pt. be used and that the font be simple and bold.
-No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations.
-Presenters are required to tend their poster during the session, which is expected to run from 4:30pm - 6:00pm on August 20 during the reception.
Please contact the organizers if further clarification is required on any of the above.
Poster session displays are of no charge to students and faculty presenting research.
Poster abstracts (3-5 sentences) should be sent to energysymposium@unlv.edu for approval. The deadline for submittal is Friday, August 15, 2008.
